You sat back, worried and sad as we dissolved a family.  You offered comfort to us as our hearts broke over lost dreams.  You listened to our choices and you gave us a p lace to land as we inevitably fell.  Your unconditional love was to be a base for our future.   Your support became our backbone.  You watched us as we grew apart.

You delighted with us at new promises. You opened your heart to possible passers-by.  You cheered us on as we lived life full speed.  You took a step back to let us figure it out for ourselves…but never too far back.  Your arms and your ears were always close by, if ever we just needed affirmation.  Every broken heart needs that as you watched us grow up.

You hesitantly accepted our thoughts of the future and you found the beauty in our ashes.  You saw the plan coming full circle.  You never dreamed this dream but you feel the excitement we feel, cause it’s so contagious.  You have witnessed us together-the obvious spark-the obvious flame that still burns. You want for us the happiness we crave so desperately. Your acceptance of us being us again is monumental.  It is the only reason we pursued it.  Without you, without all of you , we are not even us.  We would never have made it through the past heartaches, whether self-inflicted or not.  Now, you will expectantly watch us again, hopefully as we grow old together.
